Sr. Media Specialist (Buyer/Planner) in Chicago

Media Works is looking for a Media Specialist with 3-7 years of experience. Media Works is a highly-respected, fast paced, and energetic integrated marketing agency located in Baltimore, MD. We have been in business for over 36 years and have a great diverse client list that has grown with us over the years.

Position Summary:

The Sr. Media Specialist position at Media Works offers a unique opportunity to plan, strategize, and buy all media while also managing growing account management roles, and includes client facing opportunities. The role is responsible for the strategy research, planning, negotiation, purchase and placement of all media for existing clients. The position straddles traditional media as well as OTT/CTV, streaming audio/video, digital and site direct. Additionally, the senior media specialist is responsible for training and advising media coordinators and specialists, working with client teams; including direct day to day management, and managing workflow/deliverables/execution for each account. We would like someone who understands Chicago Media- especially local TV. This position is considered exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).


Responsibilities:

Acts as liaison between media vendors, the client and the agency. Including communication directly with the client.

Keeps strong pulse on new and emerging media changes and provides fresh ideas to grow clients' business.

Delivers strategic reporting to internal and external clients.

Manages client communications and presentations for growth accounts.

Gathers, organizes & presents competitive and industry research as well as preparing market analysis.

Determines best use of multi-platform media mix including traditional, digital/social media outlets to best meet clients goals and objectives

Participation in client meetings for media plan presentation and strategizing sessions

Manage day-to-day tasks associated with stewarding client-approved media plans

Helps maintain and develop a positive relationship with the client.

Has in-depth knowledge & understanding of Video, Print, Audio and OOH.

Understands rating estimates (TV & Radio) as well as digital performance metrics/ KPIs measurement

Avails media and negotiates best rates, CPM's, CPP's, special time parameters, value-added sponsorships and promotions, bonus impressions, e-newsletters, etc.

Builds the Radio & TV schedules, and compiles digital media into digital planning document.

Media execution project management, including management of asset tracking/trafficking, process control and adherence, and quality control monitoring

Analyzes all post buys and works with stations to make up under delivery weight or impressions

Paces digital media

Works with internal team members to develop monthly performance reports and make ongoing performance optimization, strategy improvement, and best practice recommendations.

Works with AM's and Directors to develop team members and assists in identifying those primed for growth.

Gives active feedback on their account teams.

Resolves billing discrepancies as needed

Provides an energy level that brings new and exciting ideas to the overall media strategy.


Experience, Education, and Skills:

Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

Experience with media buying software, Strata a plus!

Experience with digital ad servers

Experience with Google Analytics

Experience pulling media research from various sources

Experience building target audiences and implementing social media campaigns

Ability to multi-task/time management skills in a fast-paced & fun environment

Strong written and communications skills
