Job description

Summary: The Marketing Specialist will play a key role in the development and execution of marketing communications for Shankman & Associates and its CPG clients, with a particular focus on direct-to-retailer marketing, digital content, social media, and sales enablement. This position works closely with the Vice President of Marketing, Client Development Managers and other internal teams to develop and execute marketing initiatives that translate business priorities into clear, effective communications, strengthen retailer engagement, and support sales growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Direct to Retailer Marketing - work with Client Development Managers to identify client program and promotional priorities, develop retailer-facing marketing communications, and coordinate follow-up with sales teams to support engagement and sales conversion.
  • Social Media Management - develop content and cadence for social activation
    • Source and develop relevant material to share, and respond/follow up on interactions
  • Track engagement and response to marketing initiatives and use results to recommend improvements.
  • Develop and maintain selling materials, presentations and digital assets
  • Manage website content, copy, imagery, design updates, and ongoing maintenance
  • Develop and maintain polished, brand-consistent corporate marketing materials
  • Create and edit short-form video content for corporate, client, and social media initiatives.
  • Manage branded promotional merchandise
  • Develop press releases, association ads and other external communication as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the needs of the department and organization

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of relevant Marketing experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate detailed or complex information into clear, engaging external and internal communications.
  • Strong attention to detail, adaptability, emotional intelligence and sound professional judgment.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint, proficiency with Canva and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with social media content development and management
  • Demonstrated project management and copywriting skills, with the ability to manage projects from concept through execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically and work effectively in a cross-functional, team environment
  • Initiative and curiosity, with the ability to learn quickly and identify opportunities to improve marketing communications and processes.
  • Portfolio or examples of relevant marketing, content, design, or communications work.
