These jobs can include roles such as line cook, prep cook, dishwasher, or kitchen assistant. Working full time in a kitchen often involves shift work, weekends, and holidays, and requires good teamwork, time management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a full time kitchen position?

To thrive in a full-time kitchen position, you need a solid understanding of food preparation, kitchen safety, and basic cooking techniques, often supported by a high school diploma or culinary training. Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and food safety certifications like ServSafe are typically required. Strong teamwork, time management, and the ability to work under pressure are essential soft skills in this environment.
