Job description

Audubon is currently seeking a Rope Access NDE Technician to join our team. The Rope Access level 1 or level 2 technician will perform NDE examinations with the safe execution utilizing Rope Access on each project, primarily in the on-shore and off-shore facilities and terminals related to the oil and gas industry. In this role, the Rope Access NDE Technician will be responsible for performing Ultrasonic Corrosion scans, UT Spot Checks, and Magnetic Particle testing of pressure vessels, storage tanks, and process piping, while verifying Rope Access equipment being used, maintained, and inspected per industry recommended practice. Is responsible for safe and successful projects. Reports to the Rope Access Supervisor.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company and Customer safety standards and procedures
  • Travel to clients' locations
  • Conduct inspections on piping, pressure vessels and storage tanks within facilities and terminals
  • Assist with API inspections on piping, pressure vessels and storage tanks within facilities and terminals
  • Willingness to obtain NDE and API certifications and ongoing development
  • Able to perform project tasks which are assigned.
  • Ensures quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained
  • Read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Assist technicians in the field, as necessary
  • Able to read P&IDs, PFD, construction documentation, U1A documents
  • Supports and solicits input and feedback from team members at all levels within the organization
  • Works safely and completes all company and client safety daily paperwork
  • Must adhere to company policies and procedures in their entirety
  • Coordinate with Management to identify strategic accounts and play an active role in developing these accounts
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Using experience and knowledge, assist peers and other Company personnel with questions

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 2 years of Rope Access experience required
  • Technical background in NDE methods and procedures
  • NDE experience, ASNT TC-1a Level II or equivalent Certification in UTT, MT, or PT.
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated capability to perform the responsibilities of a Rope Access Level 1 or Level 2
  • Perform UT Corrosion Scanning at a minimum. MT, PT, VT, API is desired.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with key customers to identify future needs and effectively positions the company to capitalize on these
  • Able to ensure the delivery of superior solutions to customers
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Eligible to work in the U.S., without sponsorship
  • Able to travel 50%
