CertificationsIRATA Level 1 CertificationIRATA Level 2 Certification
Work EnvironmentBasic rope access tasks, inspection, and rescueMore complex tasks, supervision, and troubleshooting
ResponsibilitiesAssisting in rope access operations, following instructionsLeading teams, planning, and executing tasks independently

IRATA Rope Access Level 1 workers perform foundational tasks under supervision, while Level 2 workers handle more complex operations and supervise Level 1s. The main difference lies in certification level, responsibilities, and experience required.

What jobs pay $250 an hour?

Full Time IRATA Rope Access Level 1 technicians typically do not earn $250 an hour; wages are usually lower and depend on experience, location, and project scope. High-paying jobs in specialized fields like certain consulting, executive roles, or highly skilled trades may reach or exceed this rate, but IRATA Level 1 roles generally do not. Advanced certifications and extensive experience can lead to higher pay in related technical or supervisory positions.

What jobs can I do with IRATA level 1?

IRATA Level 1 certification qualifies workers for entry-level rope access roles such as inspection, maintenance, cleaning, and basic construction tasks in industries like oil and gas, wind energy, and building maintenance. These jobs typically involve working at heights using ropes and harnesses, and require adherence to safety protocols and supervision by higher-level technicians. Advancement to higher IRATA levels can expand job opportunities and responsibilities.

What is the maximum a level 1 rope access technician can make?

A full-time IRATA Rope Access Level 1 technician typically earns between $40,000 and $60,000 annually, depending on location, experience, and industry. Advancement to higher levels and additional certifications can increase earning potential, especially with specialized skills or hazardous environment work.

What is the highest paid rope access job?

The highest paid rope access jobs are typically supervisory or specialist roles such as Rope Access Supervisors or Technical Inspectors, who have advanced certifications and extensive experience. These positions often command higher wages due to increased responsibility, specialized skills, and the need for safety oversight in challenging environments.
