Sentara is hiring an Inventory Planner Pharmacy Technician at Norfolk General Hospital for the Specialty Case Management Pharmacy.
Location: Norfolk General, Norfolk- VA
Status: Full Time (40 Hours/wk)
Shift: Days
Hours: 8 hour shifts rotating between 8am-6pm
*Hours may vary outside of listed hours to meet Pharmacy staffing needs including occasional weekends.
The Pharmacy Tech Inventory Planner performs the inventory management responsibilities for the pharmacy under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. Demonstrates ownership of all pharmacy buyer functions.
  • Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area
  • Demonstrates the ability to competently work independently
  • Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks
  • Participates in the training of new employees
  • Provides peer coaching and constructive feedback to other colleagues in a professional and productive manner
  • Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
  • Ensures adequate supplies and medications are available for continuous patient care
  • Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
  • Uses appropriate systems for processing patient and financial information
  • Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
  • Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
  • Training in Pharmacy Inventory job functions
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification/Licensure
  • Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
  • CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)

Experience
  • 2 Years of Pharmacy Experience (Required)
  • Pharmacy Inventory Experience (Preferred)
