Job description

Paralegal - Family Law
Department: Legal
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Fort Worth
Compensation: $50,000 - $75,000 / year
Description
Focus on the Strategy, Not the Search.
At the Law Office of Bryan Fagan, we've cleared the path so you can focus entirely on your passion: practicing law at the highest level. We are a premier, fast-growing Texas law firm specializing in family law, estate planning, probate, and criminal defense. With 14 offices across the state-including Houston, Galveston, Humble, The Woodlands, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, Dallas, and Fort Worth-we provide our attorneys with a powerhouse platform, a collaborative team environment, and a true work-life balance.
What You'll Do
Our paralegal teams are the backbone of our advocacy and practice strategy. We strive to provide a true team-based environment that protects your work-life balance. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in family law to drive meaningful results for our clients, navigating them through their toughest chapters with professionalism and empathy.
  • Case Ownership: Manage the full lifecycle of family law and EPG (Estate Planning/Guardianship) matters from inception through resolution.
  • Strategic Drafting: Craft substantive pleadings, motions, and complex discovery responses with a high degree of technical accuracy.
  • Discovery & Inventory: Lead the discovery and inventory process, including tracing separate property funds and identifying "red flags" in complex financial affidavits or business valuations.
  • Trial Readiness: Partner with attorneys to curate trial exhibits, organize trial notebooks, and manage ongoing RFOs (Requests for Order).
  • Administrative Precision: Oversee court filings, maintain rigorous calendaring for hearings and deadlines, and ensure billable hours are captured accurately.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience: At least 2+ years of dedicated Texas Family Law experience as a paralegal.
  • Technical Mastery: Proficiency in E-Filing across various state court portals and staying current with local rules.
  • Software Expert: Fluent in Clio/MyCase, Google Suite, and modern document management systems.
  • Ethical Anchor: A professional who understands the line between legal information and legal advice and remains calm under the pressure of emotionally charged litigation.
  • Team Leader: A self-starter capable of providing mentorship and contributing to a collaborative team culture.

What You'll Get
We value our paralegal team as the backbone of our firm and compensate accordingly. We offer a "Big Law" structure with a "Boutique" focus on people.
  • Competitive Earnings: A base salary commensurate with experience plus earn up to $35K more with our attractive billable hour bonus plan, paid out every paycheck!
  • Essentials: 401(k) with up to 5% company match, medical/dental/vision, and full benefits.
  • Real Balance: PTO, company holidays, and an earned hybrid option designed to protect your work-life balance and mental health.
  • Investment in your success: A full week of training will start you off with success as well as the offer to support CLEs as needed.
  • Real Support: You focus on the strategy; our marketing and administrative engine handles the rest.

Why the Law Office of Bryan Fagan?
We've spent over a decade building a reputation for excellence in Texas. Here, your skills are respected, your support is guaranteed, and your mission is clear: providing elite legal representation without the burnout of business development.
Equal Opportunity Statement: We recognize that diverse experiences, perspectives and backgrounds enable us to be an even stronger company and workplace. Not only will you be welcome here, your unique thoughts and opinions will be encouraged, celebrated and deeply valued.
