Hourly Guardianship Paralegal Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Our busy legal firm is looking for an efficient, organized legal assistant to help our attorney and paralegal assist clients and ensure we’re operating efficiently. You’ll assist with the preparation of legal documents and handle all office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and signings, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. $18 - $23 hourly

• Assist the attorney and lead paralegal with Florida guardianship and probate matters from opening through closing.

• Under attorney supervision, prepare, proofread, and electronically file petitions, pleadings, motions, inventories, annual accountings, plans, notices, and other court-required documents.

• Draft routine probate and guardianship documents using established templates.

• Maintain court calendars and monitor all statutory deadlines, hearings, and annual reporting requirements.

• Coordinate with clerks, judicial assistants, court-appointed attorneys, examining committees, guardians, personal representatives, and financial institutions.

• Communicate professionally with clients regarding case status, required documentation, and upcoming deadlines.

• Prepare correspondence and legal documents for attorney review.

• Assemble and organize exhibits and supporting documentation.

• Open new matters, maintain electronic and physical case files, and ensure files remain organized and up to date.

• Assist with estate administration by preparing documents related to asset collection, creditor claims, inventories, accountings, and distributions.

• Under attorney supervision, prepare and file annual guardianship reports, accountings, care plans, and other required compliance documents.

• Schedule client meetings, hearings, mediations, depositions, and court appearances.

• Perform e-filing through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal.

• Provide exceptional client service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

• Assist the Attorney and Lead Paralegal with event planning for community workshops.

• Associate’s degree, or some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is necessary
• Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills
• Applicants must be able to type 50 words per minute or faster
• Ability to comfortably use all Microsoft Office products
• Able to meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• At least one (1) year of Florida probate and/or guardianship legal assistant experience required.

• Working knowledge of the Florida Probate Rules and Florida Guardianship Law.

• Experience with Florida Courts E-Filing Portal.

• Strong drafting, proofreading, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines with minimal supervision.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.

• Detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to providing outstanding client service.

• Good attitude.

• Open to constructive criticism about work quality.

• Bilingual in Spanish and English Required.
