Job description

At Build-A-Bear, the General Workshop Manager is responsible for the flawless execution of the store experience for guests, associates, and store leadership. The ability to fully embrace our core values and standards while inspiring others is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a role model leader, embodying the values and standards of the organization
  • Recruits, hires, promotes, and trains a high-performing store team
  • Accountable for the overall success of the store, including achieving financial goals, maintaining operational efficiency, and delivering outstanding guest experiences
  • Responsible for the development and growth of their store team
  • Ensures a visually appealing and engaging store environment is consistently maintained
  • Oversees all aspects of store operations, including inventory management, scheduling, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and communicates any possible violations of company policies and procedures to the District Manager and/or Territory Manager immediately, for escalation to HR. Takes appropriate disciplinary actions and delivers corrective actions to team members, with the assistance of the CWM, when violations occur.
  • Develops and executes strategies to increase revenue, control expenses, and achieve financial targets
  • Conducts performance reviews and performance improvement plans, resolves performance issues promptly according to Build-A-Bear established guidelines
  • Provides leadership support to ensure that all team members understand and adhere to the organization's service standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years of store management experience with a proven, successful history in a customer-centric business, preferably in specialty retail
  • High school diploma
  • Basic understanding of POS, payroll, and applicant tracking systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-4 years of store management experience, with a proven, successful history in a customer-centric business, preferably in specialty retail.
  • Associate’s (or higher) degree in business, management, or a related field
  • Proficiency with Store Force, UKG, POS System, Microsoft Outlook
