Job description

Job Title: Full-Time Front Desk Agent
Location: Staybridge Suites West Des Moines
Schedule: Full-Time, 4 days per week
Typical Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM–3:00 PM plus two weekday 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shifts
Weekends and some holidays required

Overview
Staybridge Suites West Des Moines is looking for a dependable, capable, and flexible Full-Time Front Desk Agent to join our team. This is a great fit for someone who is professional, takes initiative, works well with others, and can stay productive throughout the shift.

This is not a “sit at the desk and do the bare minimum” type of job. We are looking for someone who notices what needs to be done, helps keep the operation running smoothly, and takes pride in doing the job well. The right candidate is reliable, guest-focused, team-oriented, and able to think through problems instead of immediately saying “I don’t know.”

No hotel experience is required if you have strong customer service skills, good judgment, and a willingness to learn. We will train the right person.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome guests and handle check-ins and checkouts accurately and professionally

  • Answer phones, assist with reservations, and respond to guest questions and requests

  • Resolve routine guest issues and know when to escalate more serious concerns

  • Process payments, balance transactions, and follow cash-handling procedures carefully

  • Keep the front desk, lobby, and work areas clean, organized, and presentable

  • Communicate clearly with the next shift and management about guest issues, requests, and important updates

  • Support overall hotel operations by helping with daily tasks instead of waiting to be told what to do

  • Follow hotel safety, security, and emergency procedures at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Dependable attendance and punctuality

  • Flexible availability, including weekends and some holidays

  • Professional, friendly, and calm under pressure

  • Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfortable using computers and learning hotel systems

  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take initiative

  • Team player who is willing to help wherever needed

  • Previous customer service or hotel experience is a plus, but not required

Schedule Expectations
This is a full-time position working 4 shifts per week. The schedule will typically include:

  • Saturday 7:00 AM–3:00 PM

  • Sunday 7:00 AM–3:00 PM

  • Two weekday 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shifts

Candidates must be comfortable with this schedule pattern and understand that hospitality business levels may occasionally require some flexibility.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods

  • Lift up to 35 pounds as needed

  • Move throughout the hotel during the shift

  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance

Why Join Us

  • Competitive pay

  • Hotel discounts

  • Supportive team environment

  • Growth opportunities for dependable, high-performing employees

To Apply
If you are dependable, professional, flexible, and ready to be part of a team that works hard and supports each other, we encourage you to apply.
