Job description

Would you like to help serve award-winning Alaskan spirits? Anchorage Distillery is looking for a friendly, hard-working, and coachable leader to join our team as a full-time Tasting Room Coordinator. In this role, you will create and maintain a welcoming environment for all our guests while serving delicious craft cocktails. Creating an inviting and educational environment for all our guests is one of our top priorities, therefore candidates for this position must be kind with strong communication and organizational skills.

DETAILED ACTIVITIES

  • Daily Operations: Create a welcoming and pleasant environment for our guests. Accurately prepare and serve craft cocktails & spirits tastings from our rotating menu. Assist with merchandise and bottle purchases. Perform checklist of pre-opening cleaning and prep, as well as closing duties. Weekly preparation and procurement of cocktail ingredients.
  • Knowledge Guide: Learn about our production process, catalog of products, current cocktail menu, regional availability, and website features to answer questions the customers have about our distillery and spirits.
  • Staff Scheduling & Management: Complete weekly schedules; make staffing decisions based on tasting room traffic patterns & standard of customer care. Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed by tasting room staff. Facilitate onboarding of new staff and provide ongoing coaching and training as needed. Develop and maintain training manuals.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with the management of all inventories, including spirits, merchandise, and cocktail ingredients. This includes receiving stock and inventory control.
  • Events & Food Trucks: Assist with ‘First Friday’ and other events (on & off-site), including planning, staffing, day-of operations, and cocktail preparation. Schedule and manage food truck partnerships.
  • Cleaning & Quality: Ensure tasting room, prep kitchen, inventory areas, merch displays, and bathrooms are clean, neat, and stocked at all times; assign detailed cleaning tasks and hold staff accountable for completion of tasks. Ensure that all cocktail ingredients are fresh, stocked and properly labeled.
  • Miscellaneous: Assist with menu and tasting menu development; assist with supply purchasing and establishing vendor contacts; prep pickup & shipping orders; collaborate on merch needs; lifting loads; stocking; ensuring all company, local and federal regulations are followed; maintain necessary permits and ensure staff permits are consistently up to date; attend weekly planning meetings; assist with controlling operational costs and help identify measures to cut waste. Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Communication: Must be able to effectively communicate with guests, staff, owners, and vendors/contractors verbally and in writing when needed. This includes the ability to actively listen, respond in a manner appropriate to the situation and audience, and proactively communicate.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

- 21 + Years old

- Ability to provide references from current and former employers

- Ability to provide documentation verifying US employment eligibility

- Successful completion of a background check prior to beginning employment

- Completion of Food Handler & Alaska TAP training

- Reliable transportation

- At least 1 year of prior bartending, restaurant serving, or barista work experience

- At least 1 year of experience using square point of sale

- At least 1 year of people management experience
