Description
East End Cooperative Ministry changes the lives of those facing the impacts of poverty. Whether offering meals and pantry items to those who are experiencing food insecurity, working alongside those without a safe place to live and recover and with barriers to obtaining employment, or reaching out to young people to help them work toward a brighter future, EECM is always here.Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, repair and trouble-shoot facility systems and equipment. Includes the following areas:
    • Electrical: Interior and exterior lights, light fixtures, generators, etc.
    • Carpentry/Finishing: Floors, walls, carpets, painting, drywall, etc.
    • Plumbing: Bathroom facilities
    • Locks on cabinets, doors, desks, etc.
    • HVAC
  • Conduct and coordinate routine facility inspections and regular testing of various systems (generator, alarms, etc.) and maintain logs and document outcomes.
  • Prepare and update Safety Data Sheets.
  • Identify vendors and coordinate repair and maintenance work performed by third-parties, ensuring services are complete and performed in compliance with procedures, regulations and contractual obligations. If required, obtain price quotes for out-of-scope projects, work or repairs.
  • Request approval for the purchase of supplies and materials, submitting payment vouchers on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate the move of furniture and equipment.
  • Prepare various reports as requested by supervisor.
  • Serve on the Safety Committee and attend meetings.
  • Monitor maintenance of camera system and coordinate repairs as needed
  • Keep up with routine vehicle maintenance and registration
  • Share on-call response duties for alarms during and after regular work hours.
  • Prepare training materials and train EECM staff and others, as requested.
  • Attend training, as required.

Qualifications:
  1. A service-forward mentality with a strong desire to serve others, both within the organization and the community. Responsiveness and timeliness are critically important.
  2. Strong background in commercial building maintenance and repair.
  3. Ability to act with a high degree of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism.
  4. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Able to work independently and collaboratively and comfortable asking questions or for clarification to better understand responsibilities and to develop skills.
  6. Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook. Able to document issues and keep accurate records.
  7. Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented approach to work.
  8. Ability to remain calm and prioritize workload and adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment. Effective under pressure, high-volume or emergency situations with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  9. Ability to interpret building drawings (preferred)

Salary: $58,000 annually
  • Possess a reliable, insured vehicle and a current valid, regular Class A Pennsylvania driver's license with no accidents, points or violations in the past 3 years. Must be maintained throughout course of employment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Certifications or vocational training in specific disciplines required.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior, relevant work experience required.
  • Cultural awareness sensitivity, experience working with people of diverse backgrounds, skills and needs.
  • Prior experience working in a Not For Profit (NFP) or community organization is helpful.
  • Act 33 and 34 clearances and ability to pass drug screening required.
