Job description

Facilities Manager - Temp

Location: Seattle, WA | On-Site

Pay: $35.00–$40.00/hour DOE

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday

Position Type: Temporary

WHO THEY ARE:

Our client is a mission-driven organization serving the Seattle community through a fast-paced operation that includes office and warehouse space, refrigerated storage, commercial facilities, and a vehicle fleet.

They are looking for an experienced Temporary Facilities Manager who can step in, take ownership of day-to-day facility needs, and keep operations running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone who knows how to troubleshoot problems, coordinate vendors, prioritize repairs, and isn't afraid to handle smaller maintenance projects themselves when needed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Coordinate vendors for routine maintenance, preventative service, repairs, and unexpected system failures
  • Manage facility needs involving commercial refrigeration, HVAC, utilities, security, janitorial, landscaping, vehicles, and other building systems
  • Oversee the day-to-day upkeep of a 10,000+ sq. ft. facility, including warehouse and refrigerated storage areas
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for facilities-related issues and determine when outside vendors or service technicians are needed
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair needs for the organization's vehicle fleet
  • Handle smaller building maintenance projects when appropriate, such as installing cabinets, replacing door handles or hardware, and completing basic repairs
  • Schedule and track preventative maintenance to help reduce equipment downtime and unexpected repairs
  • Coordinate janitorial and other facility-support services
  • Monitor vendor work and ensure projects and repairs are completed properly and on schedule
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, functional, and compliant working environment
  • Partner with internal departments to quickly address facility needs and minimize operational disruptions

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:

  • $35.00–$40.00/hour DOE
  • Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule
  • Opportunity to step into a key facilities role with immediate impact
  • Variety in your day — from vendor coordination and troubleshooting to hands-on projects
  • Work with a facility that includes warehouse operations, commercial refrigeration, vehicles, and multiple building systems
  • Opportunity to put your facilities knowledge and problem-solving skills to work in a mission-driven organization

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:

  • Previous experience in facilities management, facilities coordination, building maintenance, or a similar role
  • Experience overseeing a commercial, warehouse, distribution, food-related, cold-storage, or similarly complex facility
  • Strong experience coordinating and managing outside vendors and service providers
  • Working knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, commercial refrigeration, utilities, security, and general maintenance
  • Ability to troubleshoot facility issues and determine the appropriate next steps
  • Comfortable completing basic hands-on building repairs when needed
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple maintenance needs and priorities at once
  • Dependable, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day facility operations
