Job Title: AV Design Engineer
Location: Charlotte NC (On-site with occasional travel to client sites)
Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled AV Design Engineer to design, document, and support audiovisual solutions for commercial, enterprise, and/or government environments. This role is responsible for translating client requirements into detailed AV system designs, producing high-quality 2D and 3D drawings, and ensuring solutions align with industry standards and best practices. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise across leading AV manufacturers and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Design complete audiovisual systems for conference rooms, training spaces, auditoriums, collaboration spaces, and other commercial environments
Develop detailed 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings, including signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, equipment layouts, and floor plans
Create AV system schematics, elevations, and technical documentation to support installation teams
Collaborate with sales, project managers, and field engineers to ensure designs meet client requirements, budgets, and timelines
Provide technical support during pre-sales, project execution, and installation phases
Review architectural drawings and construction documents to ensure AV integration feasibility
Select appropriate AV equipment and solutions based on functional requirements and industry standards
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AV technologies, products, and manufacturer offerings
Assist with change orders, value engineering, and design revisions as required

Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in audiovisual system design or engineering
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, including 2D and 3D drawings
Solid working knowledge of AV systems and signal flow concepts
Hands-on experience with major AV manufacturers, including:
Crestron
Extron
Kramer
BiAmp
Shure
Polycom
Vaddio
Understanding of audio, video, control, and UC systems
Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications
CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I certification
Experience designing AV solutions for enterprise, education, healthcare, or government environments
Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or other UC platforms
Experience supporting bids, proposals, and client presentations
