Full Time Columbia Farms Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Columbia County Sanctuary Movement (CCSM) organizes with (im)migrants and allies to collectively support, empower and defend our communities. This Food Justice Co-Coordinator will work closely with the other Food Justice Co-Coordinator, Co-Executive Directors, staff, and the Coordinating Committee to coordinate CCSM's Comida Para La Gente Food Justice Fresh Food Programming. This role is focused on disrupting food inequities within our current food system by collectively working with CCSM members, local organizations, food producers, and other stakeholders to increase access to healthy and culturally relevent food for immigrant communities.

CCSM is building a representative staff that contributes to leadership development within our community. We will provide training and mentorship to applicants who we believe would be a strong addition to our team but do not have all of the qualifications below. We collectively develop work portfolios that match individual skill sets and organizational aspirations.

Food Justice Co-Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Develop and Implement next phase of Sustainable Fresh Food Programming
• Coordinate fresh food programs throughout Columbia and Greene counties.
• Identify needs through community feedback (ie surveys, conversations, focus groups) and match them to available resources
• Work with development team and Co-Executive Directors and CPLG team to implement the CPLG budget
• Maintainprogram tracking documents in coordination with development team
• Work with CPLG team to collectively delegate tasks required to succesfully implement the Fresh Food Programming (food solicitation, aggregation, and tracking with local farms, restaurants, grocery stores, hunters and farmers markets)
• Maintain records related to program deliverables (food bank records, certifications etc..
• Coordinate with Co ED's to implement MOUs with local farms and farmers to increase access to culturally relevant food.
• Support fundraising team in reviewing grants related to CPLG and developing relationships with funders
• Maintain partnerships with other local organizations utilizing coolbot
• Work with Co-Coordinator to create SOPs to maintain high standard of health and safety of food and grocery deliveries
• Co-Coordinate volunteers supporting CPLG's food program
• Contribute to overall CCSM operations and logistics
• Work with Food Justice Co-Coordinator to support the success of the mutual aid kitchen program
• Participate in staff meetings, retreats and monthly coordinating committee meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Commitment to CCSM's mission, statement of principles and (im)migrant communities,
• 2-3 years of relevant experience (i.e. farming, food production, food procurement, food programming, food justice, school gardens, etc)
• Valid driver's license, access to a car, and ability to travel
• Comfort driving a cargo van
• Ability to lift 50 lb boxes of food and do repetitive manual labor
• General knowledge of local food systems
• Previous experience working with (im)migrant communities or marginalized communities
• Emergent Bilingual Speaker (English / Spanish) preferred
• Directly impacted by the immigration system preferred
• Previous experience with food justice advocacy work preferred
• Relationships with local farms, farmers, restaurants and food system stakeholders preferred
• Relationships with (im)migrant communities of Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Albany, Rensselaer Counties preferred
• Residents of Columbia or Greene counties preferred
• Excellent project management skills (develop, plan, implement)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff and members with different experiences than your own
• Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple simultaneous projects
• Willingness to work primarily in person when necessary and remote when optional Take feedback well and have a learning mindset

Terms of Employment

This is a full-time, in-person position (approximately 40 hours per week) based primarily at our Hudson, NY office. The starting salary is $59,779. This position is contingent on grant funding.
