The assignment includes providing academic instruction; planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring all activities of the intercollegiate wrestling program including developing a full schedule for both non-traditional and traditional seasons, recruitment, conditioning and training of the student athletes; and is responsible for student athlete behavior/conduct and academic eligibility. This position may also include a combination of day, eveining, online and/or hybrid teaching assignments

This position may include face-to-face instruction in a prison environment. Desireable Qualifications Community College Experience Experience with diverse student populations and equity-minded practices Proficiency with instruction in multiple modalities and educational technology Experience using early alert systems and student success technologies Experience with Student Learning Outcomes assessment and program review Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement Education and Experience Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience, directly related to the faculty member's assignment or any associate degree and six years of professional experience, directly related to the faulty member's assignment and appropriate license or cerification to practice in California For the discipline of coaching the ideal experience is paid full-time intercollegiate coaching experience. However; Consideration will be given to a combination of other coaching/playing experiences including: A minimum of 50% coaching adult athletes in intercollegiate, club, semi-pro or professional competition Remaining experience may include a combination of: playing experience at the college level coaching at the HS/Club level Minimum qualifications will be verified prior to employment offer Candidates who do not meet the stated minimum qualifications my request consideration through equivalency process in accordance with District policy and Title 5 regulations.

in accordance with district procedures and timelines Notify and report absences to the appropriate administrator in accordance with district procedures and collective bargaining agreement Attend Graduation and Convocation as well as other mandatory trainings and events Supervising the care and maintenance of equipment provided for student use Directing the work of student workers and/or classified staff as appropriate to the assignment Full-Time Coaching Faculty Key Duties and Responsibilites Act as head coach for athletic team(s) assigned Coordinate the identification and recruitment of eligible individuals by recruiting actively in high schools in the area and contiguous districts. This recruitment process includes: High school visitations, individual contacts with the athlete and parents, and home visits; preparing follow-up correspondence and telephone contact; facilitate District visitation by prospective athletes; and assisting student-athletes by referring them to student employment, financial aid, orientation, counseling, assessment and registration Recruit an overall program roster negotiated annually of student athletes Retain student athletes as negotiated annually for the sport(s) Adhere to all regulations, rules, procedures, and policies for athletic programs as established by the NCAA, the 3C2A, and the Golden Valley Conference Organize, plan, coordinate and evaluate the intercollegiate team/program Determine student eligibility for athletic program Determine program goals, objectives and related activities Oversee the strength and conditioning program for the sport both in-season and out-of season Maintain membership in and participate in meetings of local, state, and national coaches' associations Supply informational assistance in the preparation of media guides, be available to media for interviews. and is responsible for providing timely game results to local media Attend community events and speak on behalf fo the District as part of fundraising and outreach efforts Assist student-athletes in preparation for transfer to four-year colleges by: assisting student-athletes with coorespondence to four-year colleges; preparing follow-up correspondence and telephone contact with four-year colllege coaches; inititating contact with four-year college coaches on behalf of ther student-athletes; assisting student-athletes in producing game tapes for four-year colleges; assisting student-athletes with their four-year college visitations;and scheduling four-year college coaches to visit the District to recruit student-athletes Monitor student-athlete scholastic progress in coordination with the Counseling and athletic eligibility staff Teach student-athletes the practical and theoretical strategies and concepts of their respective sport Encourage student-athletes to play as a team with enthusiasm, discipline, ethical behavior, and sportsmanship Provide a safe environment with special respect to the sport and sports injuries Recommend equipment purchase and care Assist the Athletic Director and the Division Dean in the preparation of reports, budgets, and audit information, and other required data Full-Time Instructional Faculty Key Duties and Responsibilities (Education Code 87003) Instruct assigned classes (times, dates, and modality) according to the contract, approved course outline, catalog description, textbooks, and syllabus According to modality (in-person, online, hybrid, hyflex, or correspondence), deliver lectures, facilitate discussions, and guide learning activities Incorporate diverse teaching strategies to support varied learning styles Meet Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) criteria for online modality Implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies as identified in the course outline Provide effective instruction using current andragogical practices and student-centered approaches Design and deliver instruction in multiple modalities (in-person, online, hybrid, hyflex, or correspondence) as assigned Monitor student attendance and performance, utilixing the distric-sponsored early alert system to identify students who may need additional support Course Preparation Create course syllabus according to the modality (in-person, online, hybrid, or correspondence), contract, approved course outline, catalog description, textbooks, etc.
