What does it mean to be a full time Christian?

Being a 'Full Time Christian' means living out one's faith in Jesus Christ every day, not just during religious services or church events. This involves integrating Christian beliefs, values, and principles into all areas of life, including work, relationships, and personal conduct. It does not necessarily refer to a paid professional ministry position, but rather to a commitment to consistently following and representing Christ in every aspect of life. Many people use the term to emphasize that Christianity is a 24/7 calling and not limited to certain roles or times.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time Christian?

I'm sorry, but 'Full Time Christian' is not a recognized professional occupation and does not align with real-world employment roles as requested.

Individuals serving in full time Christian ministry often encounter challenges such as maintaining a healthy work-life balance, managing emotional and spiritual fatigue, and navigating the expectations of their congregation or organization. Building a supportive network among peers, prioritizing self-care and spiritual growth, and seeking mentorship can help address these challenges. Regularly setting boundaries and participating in ongoing professional development are also essential for sustaining long-term effectiveness and personal well-being in this vocation.

Position Overview

Great Rock Christian Academy (GRCA) is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and Christ-centered Middle & High School History Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026–2027 academic year.

We are looking for an educator who loves history, enjoys working with young people, and desires to make a meaningful academic and spiritual impact in the lives of students.

The History Teacher will provide engaging and effective instruction to middle and high school students using the Abeka curriculum provided by Great Rock Christian Academy. Teachers are not expected to develop curriculum or create a comprehensive instructional program from scratch. GRCA provides the curriculum, instructional framework, and supporting materials necessary for the position.

Our teachers can focus on what matters most: knowing their students, delivering excellent instruction, maintaining an engaging and orderly classroom, and helping students grow academically, personally, and spiritually.

Primary Responsibilities

· Teach assigned middle and high school History and Social Studies courses using the curriculum and instructional materials provided by GRCA.

· Prepare for and deliver clear, engaging, and effective daily instruction.

· Follow the established curriculum, scope and sequence, pacing, and academic expectations of the Academy.

· Bring history to life through enthusiastic teaching, thoughtful classroom discussions, relevant examples, and meaningful student engagement.

· Help students develop a strong understanding of historical events, people, civilizations, governments, cultures, and ideas.

· Encourage critical thinking, historical analysis, effective communication, and responsible citizenship within the context of a biblical worldview.

· Administer assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, and other assessments in accordance with the established curriculum and school expectations.

· Monitor student progress and provide appropriate support and additional instruction when needed.

· Maintain a structured, respectful, positive, and Christ-centered classroom environment.

· Establish and consistently uphold expectations for student behavior, participation, academic integrity, and personal responsibility.

· Maintain accurate and timely records of attendance, grades, assignments, and student progress.

· Communicate professionally and constructively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns.

· Collaborate effectively with administrators, faculty, and staff.

· Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, parent conferences, school programs, and other responsibilities associated with the life of the Academy.

· Model Christian character, integrity, professionalism, compassion, and respect in interactions with students, families, colleagues, and the school community.

· Support and uphold the mission, statement of faith, policies, and educational philosophy of Great Rock Christian Academy.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications

· A personal commitment to the Christian faith and a willingness to support and uphold the mission, values, statement of faith, and biblical worldview of Great Rock Christian Academy.

· Strong knowledge of history and the ability to communicate historical concepts clearly and effectively to middle and high school students.

· A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and working with young people.

· Ability to lead and manage a structured, respectful, positive, and productive classroom.

· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Ability to effectively follow and implement an established curriculum and instructional framework.

· Dependability, professionalism, organization, sound judgment, and consistency.

· Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, administration, students, and families.

· A genuine desire to invest in the academic, personal, and spiritual growth of students.

Preferred Experience

· Previous teaching, tutoring, mentoring, ministry, coaching, or other experience working with middle and/or high school students.

· Knowledge or experience in U.S. History, World History, Government, Civics, Geography, or related subjects.

· Previous experience serving in a Christian school, church, ministry, homeschool, or other educational environment.
