Job description

Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders (DCND), one of the largest physician owned and operated private practices in Ohio, is seeking a Botulinum Toxin (Botox) Coordinator to be based in our Centerville office or work remotely from the Dayton/Cincinatti area. The Botulinum Toxin (Botox) Coordinator is responsible for obtaining all prior authorizations for all botulinum toxin procedures, verifying patient insurances for all botulinum toxin procedures, and discussing patients’ financial responsibility for injections. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a full-time (M-F, no holidays or weekends!) outpatient practice, collaborating with DCND, Inc. physicians and other clinical staff. Our ideal candidate will have a medical billing certificate, but it is not required.

Only candidates local to the Dayton/Cincinatti area will be considered. Even when working remotely, there may be times where it is necessary to complete work on-site, including for trainings, meetings, or during technology outages.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Pay - The pay range for the Botulinum Toxin (Botox) Coordinator is $18.50 to $20.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.

What We Require for This Role

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of medication and/or procedure prior authorization experience.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background and drug screen.
  • Immunization against tuberculosis (TB) or willingness to be vaccinated upon hire.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Answer a multi-line phone queue to perform authorization for botulinum toxin patients which includes verifying eligibility and collecting/updating insurance information. Educate patient on process and saving cards.
  • Submit authorization requests for new and recheck patients. Document detailed cases of the authorization process for each patient and contact patients’ insurance if authorization is ineligible.
  • Schedule consults and recheck appointments appropriately based on diagnosis.
  • Perform monthly patient ordering for botulinum toxin which includes the following: running reports on patient appointments, sending correspondence to patients via patient portal, creating patient cases regarding deliveries, initiating deliveries as needed with pharmacies, and reminding patients of consent needed for delivery.
  • Periodically meet with botulinum toxin representatives to keep abreast of updates and changes with regard to the different medications, insurance criteria, authorization issues, specialty pharmacy issues, available savings program, and reimbursement policies.
