About the Role
Lyra is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for executing critical, fundamental accounting operations as well as strategically growing and improving our business. A strong foundation in accounting and business is necessary for the role as the company will look to you for guidance and support of operations. You will need excellent communication, sound judgment, and a bias toward action.
An ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully operating in dynamic environments and should be comfortable working cross-functionally to resolve issues. This position often requires the ability to meet demanding deadlines. The candidate should also be flexible and adaptable as priorities change and be willing to adapt working hours to accommodate time zone differences.
Responsibilities:
  • Report directly to and serve as a trusted partner to Lyra's Senior Accounting Manager, Senior Accounting Director, and Controller
  • >
  • Lead accounting and operations staff through month-end close, reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting activities
  • >
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and present results to executive leadership; perform monthly and quarterly flux analyses for the balance sheet and income statement

  • Oversee payroll and bonus accounting, including accruals, reconciliations, and period-end close activities; ensure accurate recording of compensation expenses and related liabilities in compliance with GAAP and company policies

  • Manage accounting for stock-based compensation (SBC), partnering with the stock administration team to ensure accurate expense recognition, valuation support, and financial statement disclosures

  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across entities; ensure accurate eliminations and timely settlement

  • Initiate and drive process improvements to enhance accuracy, financial control, and efficiency
  • >
  • Perform accounting research to determine appropriate treatment under relevant guidance and ensure proper accounting and reporting for ad hoc transactions

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial and accounting processes, including data assets, tools, software, and workflows

  • Help develop and mature company-wide procedures, policies, internal controls, and documentation to ensure consistency and clarity in business operations

  • Prepare for, support, and manage annual financial audits

  • Contribute to ad hoc financial and accounting projects as needed

Qualifications:
  • Experience working with GAAP accounting standards, preferably at a publicly traded company or Big 4 firm

  • 10+ years of experience in accounting, audit, advisory, and/or corporate finance

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related quantitative field

  • Comfortable working end-to-end across the P&L

  • Experience with accounting and financial planning software and ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus)

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and present to senior leadership and external partners

  • Ability to analyze complex problems, determine appropriate processes, and derive accounting conclusions; effectively present results to the team

As a full-time Accounting Manager, you will be employed by Lyra Health, Inc. The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $119,000 to $164,000. The base range is determined by role and level, and placement within the range will depend on a number of job-related factors, including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
