Position: Early Childhood Paraprofessional (Grant Funded)
Braod Function: Assist with early childhood education of children, ages 6 weeks to 3 years.
Location: Adult Education
Schedule:
  • .8 FTE
  • 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday & Friday
  • 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Tuesday & Thursday
  • 21.5 hours per week
  • Follows School Year Calendar

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Indivdual must have taken and passed the Para Pro Assessment OR hold an Associates Degree OR have two years of college (60) credits
  • Individuals that do not meet one of the 3 above requirements are still strongly encouraged to apply as they may be considered for a "sub-paraprofessional" opportunities. Individuals selected as "sub-paraprofessionals" must obtain one of the above 3 requirements (Pass the Para Pro Test, Hold an Associates Degree or complete 2 Years of College Credits) within 6 months of hire
  • Experience working with adult population preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Individuals that meet one of the 3 paraprofessional requirements as listed above at the time of hire will follow the benefits and compensation of the Middletown Federation of Paraprofessionals. Starting rate will be $17.42 per hour. Please click here for all Paraprofessional (MFP) benefits.
  • Individuals that do not meet one of the 3 paraprofessional requirements at the time of hire will be considered "sub-paraprofessionals". However, please note that these positions are not considered members of the MFP and the starting rate is $15.00 per hour. If "sub paraprofessionals" work more than 30 hours per week, some limited medical benefits are offered. Upon documented completion of any of the above 3 requirements, the individual will be assigned to full paraprofessional status with the MFP and moved to the MFP pay scale.
