About the Position

Are you someone who thrives on helping others, keeping things organized, and creating a welcoming environment? As a part-time Sales Clerk at our Goose Creek Base Supply Center (BSC), you directly support the mission of Industries for the Blind and Visually Impaired (IBVI): creating meaningful employment opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired while delivering exceptional service to our military and federal customers. In this role, you are the friendly face customers rely on, the steady presence that keeps the store running smoothly, and an essential part of a relaxed, supportive team environment.

A Typical Day in This Role

Your day starts by greeting customers, answering questions, and helping them find exactly what they need. You receive shipments, stock merchandise, keep displays clean and appealing, and ensure pricing is accurate. Throughout the day, you deliver top-notch customer service, support store operations, and help maintain a clean and organized retail space.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide outstanding customer service, greet customers, answer questions, and assist with product selection.
  • Manage inventory flow, including receiving shipments, organizing stock, and pulling items for orders.
  • Stock and maintain merchandise displays, ensuring shelves are clean, faced, full, and accurately labeled.
  • Perform routine store upkeep, such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and general cleanliness.
  • Support daily store operations as a dependable team member who adapts to changing needs.

What You Bring

You’re a strong fit for this role if you:

  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent, pass Federal background check and drug screen and possess Real Act compliant ID.
  • Bring a positive attitude and enjoy helping customers.
  • Feel comfortable with regular computer use, including Excel and assistive technology.
  • Have strong attention to detail, can multitask, and enjoy keeping things organized.
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and kneeling.
