Job description

Summary:

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated construction projects of the fiber network to ensure that goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal team and vendors to develop plans for each network build, including designs, bill of materials, budgets, and contractor selection.

  • Ensures standards are maintained for external construction partners and work with the team to do quality control checks on each project at regular intervals to ensure compliance with standards

  • Meet with homeowner associations, businesses, and local governments to review the construction process and address questions and concerns.

  • Gather relevant information regarding the scope of work, and costs related to Residential build.

  • Contact for construction design & installations with associations for subdivisions and MDU Builds, small line extensions, cable replacements, and forced relocations

  • Track and review daily production while ensuring the as-built and invoicing process is utilized.

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience

  • Coordinate with engineers and developers in designing the plant by performing site surveys of as-built and proposed projects and completing associated scope of work.

  • Ensure map databases are updated with any system changes per company design specifications

  • Prepare system maps and/or print packages for distribution

  • Perform construction inspections for quality control in accordance with Technical Quality Assurance standards

  • Coordinate permitting and make ready process with local utility companies

  • Communicate with leadership regarding concerns about construction progress

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. -Education:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years of project coordination or telecommunication technical experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

-Experience/Skills Needed:

  • Knowledge of fiber design preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to compose reports and correspondence necessary to execute position responsibilities.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
