Job description

Reports to: Production Supervisor/Manager

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

  • Keep fryer supplied with proper pellets, run through fryer and apply correct seasoning to specified percentages.
  • Maintain proper supply to packaging at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily:

  • Prepare fryer for the day (install screens, fill oil and check for problems)
  • Fill pellet hoppers
  • Maintain proper oil temperature and dwell time
  • Use correct blend of pellets for Bulk Density
  • Run necessary amounts of pellets through augers and into the fryer
  • Season the proper amount of pork rinds
  • Make sure all packaging machines are full of product if they are supposed to be
  • Manage product overflow containers
  • Check bulk density every hour
  • Keep track of all pallets/boxes of pellets used and all bags of seasoning used for record keeping
  • Scan items in E21
  • Keep accurate records of E21
  • Keep the floor cleaned up with squeegee and do any other required cleaning
  • Unload pellet shipments and maintain inventory counts

*And any other duties assigned by Supervisor

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TOO:

  • Lock Out Tag Out
  • Follow all Food Safety regulations
  • Wear proper PPEs, including hearing protection in all areas of the plant
  • Follow all common employee safety practices

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
