Job description

TITLE: Cut to Size Infeed
STATUS: Hourly
LOCATION: Toccoa
DEPARTMENT: Production
REPORTS TO: Mill Supervisor
PURPOSE:
To perform the production process in order to optimize the use of all resources in meeting and/or exceeding established plant goals and client/customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Follow all safety, quality, production, materials and plant policies and procedures
  • Receive patterns from the schedulers and input into computer system
  • Order material for daily production from Warehouse
  • Select patterns through machine computer system for daily production requirements
  • Transfer material from conveyor line to the infeed of the saw
  • Manage multiple operations that run simultaneously through Cut to Size saw
  • Provide instruction to Cut to Size outfeed operators based on operation of saw
  • Coordinate material movement through other machine centers in production flow
  • Change tooling and calibrate machine per Standard Work procedures
  • Perform quality checks and record data in production reports
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Demonstrate behavior that aligns with plant expectations and CITE principles
  • Complete all training required for operation of assigned area
  • Available to work assigned schedule and shift hours as necessary to meet client/customer requirements
  • Operate computer software necessary to assigned area
  • Train new or back-up operators using certified peer trainer tools and techniques
  • Responsible for daily 5S/clean-up expectations for assigned area
  • Participate on Kaizen, TPM and cross functional team events as requested
  • Perform other duties as directed by plant management

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
Education, Experience and Skills
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred, in lieu of education, extensive manufacturing knowledge
  • Demonstrated manufacturing/work experience and willingness to learn to operate required positions in the team assigned
  • Record of successful team support, meeting work performance expectations and commitment toward continuous improvement
  • Experience performing duties in a team environment committed to positive performance and SQDC goal achievement
  • Demonstrate behavior that supports the company's core values and CITE principles
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook preferred

Language Skills:
Must read, analyze, and interpret common business documents such as packing lists, manifests, bills of lading, pallet tickets, or job orders. Must communicate effectively with co-workers and customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquires or complaints.
Mathematical Skills:
Use basic mathematical concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to such tasks as inventory control, material ordering, and job order verification.
Reasoning Skills:
Perceive problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an assorted number of tasks or instructions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move about the work area to position oneself to complete essential functions. The employee is required to move material weighing up to 50 pounds in correct position and inspect for any defects in product.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Non-climate controlled manufacturing environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high and requires the use of hearing protection. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is required. Overtime required as production demands.
