Job Summary: The Front-End Manager is responsible and accountable for overseeing all aspects of the Front-End Operation of the Store assigned to. This includes promoting proper and efficient servicing of our customers and supervising all Front-End associates. Responsible for promoting all programs initiated by Times Super Market at the same time upholds and carries out Times' philosophy and image of quality, service and cleanliness.

In the absence of the Store director, Assistant Store Director and Grocery Manager the Front-End Manager assumes the responsibilities of the entire store.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Develop plans, organizes and controls Front-End operation.
  • Ensures customers are receiving proper, efficient and friendly service by monitoring the work performance of subordinates, trains if necessary and correctly schedules.
  • Directly supervises from 14 to 26+ associates
  • Supervise the Front-End management team and delegates responsibilities as necessary.
  • Develop programs to improve and maintain the proper efficient servicing of customers.
  • Ensure that the store's activities comply with the rules/regulations of the various governmental and regulatory agencies.
  • Address and review all controllable expenses in the Front-End.
  • Ensure good communications is maintained between Front-End associates.
  • Provide training guidance and counseling to Front-End associates.
  • Enforce and ensures compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Foster a harmonious positive environment.
  • Provide a safe and sanitary environment for customers and associates.
  • Take appropriate loss prevention measures.

Other Job Duties:

  • Conduct floor checks and ensures adequately stocked shelves; products are merchandised properly and rotated.
  • Recommend changes in procedures, house rules and work methods as necessary.
  • Recognize and assist in the advancement of qualified associates.
  • Conduct periodic competitor checks.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing for long periods (up to 3 hours without a break).
  • Frequent bending and stooping required during the course of the workday.
  • Pushing up to 100 pounds at a time and lifting and carrying to 25+ pounds required.
  • 18 years of age or older (operates heavy machinery)

Work Hours:

  • Salary forty hours
  • May require working early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays

  • Fast-paced environment
  • Extremely hot and/or cold temperatures: Warehouse/kitchen (100+o F); Chill (35o F)/freezer (-10o F)

Qualifications:

  • Education/Training/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two year's management level experience within the supermarket industry
  • College education preferably in business is helpful.
  • Basic knowledge of cashier functions and procedures
  • Training in supervision and effective oral and written communications is essential.
  • Basic computer skills not necessary but helpful.
  • Cashiering experience required
  • Knowledge of Front-End operation is desirable. Willing to learn
