What you'll do:
As a Dental and Business Assistant you will work to enhance the daily operations of the clinic by providing excellent care and communication to our patients.
Dental Assistant Responsibilities:
  • Prepares, sterilizes, disinfects, and maintains dental equipment, instruments, and supplies
  • Collects and records patient health histories and x-rays
  • Ensures patient comfort during dental procedures
  • Completes charting of treatment information in the patients' dental notes from the doctor as directed
  • Assist doctor in management of medical and dental emergencies
  • Delivers postoperative and general oral care instructions to patient
  • Maintains infection control procedures, patient privacy, and professional interactions with patients and staff
  • Assist administrative team with customer service functions
Patient Relations & Front Office Responsibilities:
  • Greet and welcome patients in a warm, positive, and professional manner.
  • Handle patient records confidentially and respectfully, adhering to all HIPAA privacy standards.
  • Answer phones courteously using excellent customer service skills; relay messages accurately.
  • Promptly respond to voicemails, emails, and texts from patients.
  • Provide clear instructions, directions, and thorough answers to patient questions.
  • Schedule patient appointments and maintain an organized daily schedule.
  • Create and manage new patient accounts in the Practice Management System.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits.
  • Coordinate communication and workflow between front office and clinical staff.
  • Manage unscheduled treatment plans and recall lists.
  • Place appointment reminder calls, texts, or emails.
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized front reception area.
  • Assist in coordinating temporary staffing coverage as needed.
  • Review treatment plans with patients and explain treatment and payment options.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant with front desk knowledge/insurance
  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting Program or dental assistant experience preferred but not required
  • Previous customer service or office experience
  • Proficiency or the ability to become proficient within 90 days in dental terminology and dental software for charting, treatment planning, clinical notes, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Foster a positive attitude and be a team player

Patient Care Hours:
Monday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
