The Transfer Center staff assists in securing staff for absences, leaves, etc., adjusting schedules as required and is responsible for planning, organizing and scheduling workers to ensure that needs are fulfilled.

RN Essential Job Duties:
  • Oversees all staffing/scheduling changes and daily hospital admissions/discharges/transfers for nursing units.
  • Coordinates and provides patient care staffing to ensure all shifts are staffed appropriately.
  • Uses critical thinking skills to prioritize placement of admissions and transfers.
  • Collaborates with medical staff, hospital employees, and referring physicians for patient placement.
  • Is courteous, professional, and effectively communicates appropriate information.
  • Demonstrates appropriate conduct and positive attitude.

Education, Training & Experience
  • Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program
  • Must have active IN RN license
  • ER/ICU RN experience required
  • Must have active BLS certification
