Job description

The Registered Nurse Transfer Center is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the transfer process. Responsible for coordinating direct admissions and
hospital transfers to and from community hospitals with the intent to transfer each patient to an appropriate Tenet hospital. Works collaboratively to foster relationships with referring facilities, physicians, and hospital staffs in representation of Tenet Healthcare Mission and Values. Serves as a clinical resource for non-nursing transfer center staff, with responsibility for clinical decisions and appropriate documentation. Maintains working knowledge of EMTALA and other regulations governing patient transfers. Utilizes applicable systems to facilitate bed flow and expedite patient placement. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of Nursing
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 4 years of experience in an acute care setting
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: ER/Critical Care or in a charge nurse, house supervisor or other management experience.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse
