REGISTERED NURSE (RN) INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR
Flexible Schedule | 1099 | Home Care
Love being a nurse, but not necessarily looking for another traditional nursing job?
No Place Like Home Senior Services is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) Independent Contractor to help provide clinical oversight for our home care clients and caregivers.
This is a flexible, primarily visit-based role without the commitment of a traditional full-time nursing schedule.
WHO WOULD LOVE THIS ROLE?
This could be a great fit if you're:
• A new or recently licensed RN who wants to gain experience while figuring out where you want to plant your feet full-time
• A semi-retired RN who isn't quite ready to hang up the stethoscope for good
• A nurse with a full-time job who wants flexible supplemental income
• An experienced RN who simply wants a lighter schedule and more control over their time
You bring the nursing judgment. We'll provide the clients, caregivers, and support.
WHAT WILL YOU ACTUALLY BE DOING?
This isn't a traditional bedside nursing position. Your role is focused on assessments, oversight, caregiver competency, and making sure our clients are receiving the care they need.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Initial client assessments and reassessments
• Supervisory visits in clients' homes
• Evaluating client needs and changes in condition
• Reviewing caregiver performance and client care
• Completing required RN documentation
• Performing caregiver skills competency checks
• Providing clinical guidance to caregivers and agency staff when needed
• Communicating concerns and recommendations to agency leadership
You'll also need to be available at least once per week to complete skills competency checks for new caregiver hires. We'll work with you to establish a consistent day or time that fits your availability.
WHY NO PLACE LIKE HOME?
We're a locally operated home care agency, and we're big believers that good care starts with good people.
We aren't looking for someone to simply check boxes and sign paperwork. We want an RN who can look at a client, look at the care they're receiving, and help us make sure we're doing right by them.
At the same time, we understand that nursing doesn't have to mean 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends, or giving up control of your schedule.
This role gives you the opportunity to use your license, experience, and clinical judgment while maintaining flexibility in your life.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Current, unrestricted North Carolina RN license
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Dependability and good time management
• Comfortable working independently
• Reliable transportation and willingness to visit clients in their homes
• Ability to objectively evaluate caregiver skills and competency
Home care, home health, geriatrics, long-term care, or community nursing experience is definitely a plus, but it isn't required. Newly licensed RNs are welcome to apply!
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
This is a 1099 independent contractor position.
Compensation is based on the service performed, including assessments, reassessments, supervisory visits, skills competency checks, and other approved RN services.
Scheduling is flexible. Visits are coordinated around client needs, required completion dates, and your availability.
If you're looking for a way to stay connected to nursing, gain experience, earn supplemental income, or simply practice nursing on a schedule that leaves room for the rest of your life, we'd love to hear from you.
