Job Description

Responsible for the integration and development of heavy-duty commercial vehicle propulsion control systems. Broad range of scope, which includes defining system requirements, developing integration strategies in a model-based design environment, and releasing control system software into production. Significant work in MATLAB and Simulink in addition to C/C++, software and hardware in the loop systems, test cells, and test vehicle environments to develop our vehicle propulsion systems. This position also entails working closely with hardware engineers to integrate electrical components, mechanical systems, sensors, actuators, and controllers to produce industry-leading propulsion systems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop system requirements
  • Design/Develop/Implement embedded controls design in a production controls environment to satisfy system requirements
  • Create/Maintain Control System DFMEAs
  • Develop/Execute Control System verification and validation plans
  • Lead control system integration design including communication systems, propulsion system interface functions, and vehicle interfaces
  • Utilize model-based simulation environments, MIL/SIL/HIL, and other test assets (test cells/vehicles) for controls development
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to optimize system integration and ensure design meets requirements
Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in related fields required
  • Experience in Powertrain or Vehicle Embedded Control Systems in either Automotive, Aerospace, Marine, Agriculture, or Construction industries.
  • MATLAB/Simulink/C/C++ experience in a production controls environment
  • Familiarity with DFMEA development and process
  • Familiarity with CAN / J1939 serial data communication system
  • Familiarity with power electronics and electro-mechanical components
  • Ability to attain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and perform in vehicle development activities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
