Key responsibilities

  • Manage and hold accountable all vendors and trade partners across every phase of construction, including scheduling, site readiness, materials validation, payment approvals, quality control enforcement, and coordinating corrections.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for homebuyers throughout construction by leading meetings, delivering weekly updates, and ensuring buyers are informed from contract to close.


Job description

Job Summary

Our Project Managers give direction for all functions of the job site as it relates to home construction, including but not limited to project management, purchasing, field operations, environmental compliance, and safety. As a Project Manager with New Leaf Builders, you are the leader and manager of prospective construction projects and teams of multiple homes. Management would include managing field vendors and trades, as well sa providing oversight for all phases (from permit to closing) of the project. This is achieved through scheduling and supervising job site subcontractors to ensure work is proceeding on schedule and within budget while maintaining company construction and safety standards.


The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in residential new home construction, and should be committed to excellent customer service in a demanding environment that uses established industry-wide procedures. Additionally, the candidate should embody our core values of kindness, honesty, and integrity, and be passionate about helping homeowners create the spaces where they create memories.

Essential Functions

  • Own the full construction lifecycle for a portfolio of homes; from pre-start budget review and site prep through final quality inspection, close, and handoff to the Customer Care department.
  • Manage and hold accountable all vendors and trade partners across every phase of construction. This includes stage scheduling, site readiness, materials validation, payment approvals, quality control enforcement, and coordinating corrections when work doesn't meet NLB standards.
  • Maintain daily visibility into job progress through consistent site walkthroughs, active ITK dashboard management, and real-time scheduling accuracy; identifying and resolving issues before they impact timelines or quality.
  • Complete Stage Quality Control Checklists and corresponding Punch Lists at every phase of construction, ensuring each home advances only when it meets NLB's quality standards.
  • Coordinate and manage all municipal and third-party inspections, ensuring homes remain compliant, on schedule, and fully documented throughout the build process.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for homebuyers throughout construction; leading Pre-Construction, Pre-Drywall, and Orientation meetings, delivering consistent weekly updates, and ensuring every buyer feels informed and cared for from contract to close.
  • Collaborate actively with Sales and Design teams to maintain alignment on community priorities, buyer selections, design accuracy, and closing timelines; participating in weekly and monthly team meetings and surfacing issues early.
  • Uphold job site safety, cleanliness, and community aesthetics to NLB and OSHA standards, holding trades accountable and maintaining the professional presentation of every community.
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company.
  • Develop and maintain good rapport with subcontractors, homeowners, city officials and inspectors
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Must be willing to drive among designated communities in daytime and nighttime
  • Ability to work up to 10 hours per day in a fast-paced environment. Work hours/days may vary to oversee operations.
  • Ability to endure regular exposure to outside weather conditions and elements.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, etc.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or other equipment necessary to the position.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or 2-5 years of professional experience or education in construction. A specific focus on residential projects is preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with an ability to overcome obstacles as an individual and with group coordination.
  • Effective time management skills and can thrive in a team environment.
  • Proficient with technology and understanding of Microsoft Office applications & email.
  • Have a strong operational focus, analytical ability, and good judgment with high ethical standards.
  • Ability to read, count and write English to complete all necessary documentation.
  • Ability to read plans, tape measure and use other small tools as necessary to the position.
  • Ability to communicate with all persons effectively and courteously.
