Job description

CARF Accreditation Specialist (Temporary) - Houston
Duration: July 1 - December 31
We are seeking an experienced Accreditation & Compliance Specialist to support accreditation readiness, compliance, and performance improvement initiatives. This contract role will focus on implementing sustainable systems and processes that support accreditation standards, with a strong emphasis on organizational compliance and continuous quality improvement.
Candidates with CARF experience are strongly encouraged to apply; however, we also welcome professionals with experience supporting other accreditation or regulatory compliance programs who are eager to learn CARF standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise on accreditation standards, compliance requirements, and organizational readiness.
  • Develop practical tools, templates, workflows, and tracking systems to support compliance and accreditation efforts.
  • Partner with leadership and program teams to integrate accreditation standards into daily operations.
  • Support mock surveys, readiness activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Strengthen performance management and compliance systems across programs.
  • Assist with documentation, policy development, and implementation of sustainable compliance processes.
Qualifications
  • Experience supporting accreditation, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, or performance management initiatives.
  • Preferred: Experience as a CARF surveyor, accreditation consultant, or CARF compliance leader.
  • Knowledge of CARF ASPIRE to Excellence® Section 1 standards is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with Employment & Community Services and/or Behavioral Health programs is a plus.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive process improvements.
Work Location
  • Hybrid (Flexible work arrangement may be available)
Schedule
Flexible, project-based contract assignment from July 1 through December 31.
