Job description

The Westbrook School Department is seeking a creative, engaging and energetic World Languages Teacher at Westbrook High School for the school year 2026 - 2027. This position may include teaching Spanish or French at the novice, intermediate, and advanced levels. This is a full-time teaching position.ย The ideal candidate will have experience as a Spanish or French teacher at the high school level, strong content knowledge, willingness to collaborate and share best practices with colleagues, and be skilled at working with all students. A highly preferred candidate will be willing and able to teach introductory level courses in both French and Spanish. We also prefer a candidate who has experience working withย special education and multilingual learners, skilled in differentiation, and the application of 21st Century teaching and learning strategies. Additionally, the candidate should be familiar with SEL and other holistic practices that help students access their academics and enrich their lives. Finally, this candidate should reflect a teacher whose academic strength is matched by a love of teaching and demonstrated range and flexibility to reach diverse students.ย The ideal candidate will be fully certified with fingerprinting and a favorable background check.

Westbrook High School is proud to serve the City of Westbrook. Our learners represent 27 different countries of origin and speak over 15 languages other than English. The needs of individual learners are recognized and met through the work of our exemplary staff and diverse programming. We offer a wide range of extracurricular clubs, activities and athletic teams.
