French Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students.
  • Teach French language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
  • Create opportunities for students to practice conversational French and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
  • Teaching students about French culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
  • Organizing fun events where students can showcase their French language skills.
  • Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
  • Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.


French Teacher Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven written and verbal proficiency in French.
  • 2-3 years of previous teaching experience.
  • No teaching license or credential is required.
  • Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
  • Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities.


Additional Desired Qualities:

  • Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
