Job description

Position Type/Expected Hours: This is a full-time, exempt position with primarily 1st shift hours. Longer hours, evenings and weekend work may be necessary at times.

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for coordinating shipment execution by managing customer orders, scheduling dock appointments and creating and maintaining accurate shipment records. This role serves as the primary customer and internal interface to ensure loads are prepared correctly and handed off cleanly for carrier coverage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and review customer truck orders to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Schedule dock appointments with internal facilities and customers
  • Coordinate shipment timing with plants, warehouses and customer service teams
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, appointments issues and execution errors
  • Escalate issues that may impact service, timing or customer satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable freight and transportation regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in business or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years' Logistics experience in manufacturing setting
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP shipping and receiving
  • Outstanding analytical and statistical technical skills
  • Must exhibit strong degree of professionalism and excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized and process oriented with an ability to multitask and excel in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, specifically MSOffice Excel, Word.

Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, anticipate changing project needs, and meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Position will also frequent the production floor, so operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions will be required.
