Position Summary:
Assist buyer(s) with all purchasing needs including preparing various reports and data management.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Keep the Purchasing Manager informed of all activities or problems and submit reports as requested by management
  • Research, evaluate and purchase products
  • Must ensure that suppliers can fulfill the product requirements on time, while maintaining a quality product
  • Place orders and ensure inventory is properly distributed
  • Prepare purchase orders or other agreements as necessary and check them for accuracy and completeness before issuing
  • Review acknowledgements for agreement with purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies with the supplier to the best possible advantage for this organization.
  • Follow-up or expedite orders as necessary to meet schedules
  • Answering vendor questions and providing them with additional order documentation as needed
  • Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders
  • Work with the inventory management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products
  • Organizes and implements with direction from a buyer and/or the purchasing manager strategies to accomplish small business and disadvantaged business sourcing programs consistent with company guidelines.
  • Comply with all state and federal laws as required

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft applications software expertise (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
  • Ability to work in an individual and team setting.
  • Ability to meet and establish deadlines.

Position Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Experience:
1+ years of experience in a Purchasing role preferred
Oracle experience is a plus
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Office Environment
Ability to sit for long periods of time
Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
May lift up to 50 lbs.
