Summary

As a Senior Freight Forwarder, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of freight forwarding operations, including arranging shipments, coordinating with carriers and logistics providers, preparing documentation, and ensuring timely delivery. You will oversee a team of freight forwarders and work closely with clients to ensure their shipments are handled efficiently and effectively. You will need to have strong industry knowledge, leadership skills, and excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of freight forwarding operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management
  • Coordinate with carriers, logistics providers, and customs brokers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of shipments
  • Prepare and process all necessary shipping and customs documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations
  • Manage and mentor a team of freight forwarders, providing training and support as needed
  • Communicate regularly with clients to ensure their shipping needs are being met, and to provide updates on shipment status
  • Monitor industry trends and developments, and adjust operations as needed to stay competitive and meet customer demand

Educational background / Work experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field is required for this position.
  • Professional certifications in freight forwarding, such as from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) or the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA), may be preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience managing a team and working with clients is preferred.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $52,500 - $71,000 / Annual.

Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
