Job Purpose:
- The Freight Coordinator at THE TAYLOR GROUP INC is responsible for managing and overseeing the logistics and transportation of goods. This role ensures efficient and timely delivery of freight, optimizing routes and coordinating with carriers to meet business objectives and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Communicate with carriers to negotiate rates and manage contracts.
- Track and monitor shipments, resolving any issues or delays promptly.
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast shipping needs and plan accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and carrier performance.
- Analyze transportation data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in the logistics industry.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints related to freight operations.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight coordination, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Proven experience working with freight carriers and managing shipping schedules.
