Job description

About DAT
DAT Freight & Analytics is an award-winning employer of choice and a next-generation SaaS technology company that has been at the leading edge of freight and logistics innovation for nearly five decades. Founded in 1978, DAT operates the largest freight marketplace in North America - processing 250 million+ load posts annually and maintaining one of the largest repositories of freight market transaction data in the world. On a defined path to $1 billion in revenue, DAT deploys a suite of software solutions, machine learning models, and intelligent automation tools that help brokers, carriers, and shippers price freight accurately, source capacity, reduce risk, and operate more efficiently. With nearly 700 teammates across offices in Denver, CO; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Springfield, MO; Toronto, ON; and Bangalore, India, DAT combines the credibility of a multi-decade market leader with the drive of a company that is not done disrupting the industry it helped build. Application Deadline: 6/15/2026
The Opportunity
DAT is looking for a VP of Freight Analytics & Advisory: a senior, commercially minded leader who drives growth of our analytics products and services by serving as the authoritative voice of DAT's data, own analytical advisory for enterprise customers, and build our data services practice. This role owns the strategic vision of our analytics capabilities and bridges deep quantitative expertise with customer-facing influence and cross-functional product partnership.
This is a player-coach role - you will lead by doing, setting the standard for analytical rigor and customer engagement while building and scaling a team. You are eager to work directly with our customers and as comfortable presenting forecasts to the C-Suite as you are mentoring an analyst on methodology.
This role will report to Kary Jablonski, EVP Broker, and work closely with the iQ Product team as well as our GTM teams.
What You'll Do
Market Intelligence: Serve as the commercial and analytical voice of our data
  • Serve as external spokesperson and internal authority on freight market methodology
  • Share expertise and feedback with product and data science teams; provide escalation on hard analytical questions

Strategic Vision: Champion and build DAT's analytics strategy and business
  • Partner closely with product team to translate market and customer insights into priorities that deliver value for our customers
  • Develop and champion our vision, and inspire action across cross-functional teams to execute to it

Customer Ownership: Lead enterprise customer engagement
  • Own and deepen relationships with pricing and analytics leadership at enterprise customers
  • Navigate complex, high-scale enterprise contracts in partnership with our sales team
  • Build and chair a broker-focused Analytics Customer Advisory Board (CAB)

Team Leadership: Build and scale our analytical advisory team
  • Hire and lead a team of analysts; scale consulting and advisory services to broker customers
  • Partner closely with Sales and the iQ product team on go-to-market and roadmap

The Skills and Experience You'll Bring
  • Freight pricing or analytics background: 15+ years pricing or analytics experience in brokerage, procurement, or both; speaks the customer's language from the inside
  • Team builder: has designed, hired, and scaled an analytically-focused team
  • Commercial presence: comfortable in VP/C-suite conversations; experienced navigating complex enterprise relationships and high-stakes RFPs
  • Quantitative depth: rate forecasting, statistical modeling, time-series analysis
  • Cross-functional influence: Proven ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across cross-functional teams
  • Pricing instinct: natural thinking partner on data product pricing and packaging; data buyer background a plus

Expectations
  • Player-coach model
  • Able to travel 1-2x a month with our commercial and product teams; this is a customer facing role as much as an analytical one
