Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Freight Analyst Intern to support our logistics operations. The primary goal of this role is to control transportation costs, audit freight invoices, and prevent duplicate shipping charges. Please submit your resume, a brief cover letter outlining your Freight Analyst achievements and any relevant case studies or dashboards you’ve built. 

Duties and Responsibilities  

Freight Bill Audit & Cost Control  

 Review and audit freight invoices from carriers, warehouses, and third-party logistics  providers.  

 Verify billing accuracy against approved rates, shipment records, and service  agreements.  

 Identify duplicate freight charges, billing errors, overcharges, and unauthorized fees.  

 Analyze parcel, LTL, FTL, and fulfillment shipping costs to identify savings opportunities.  

Shipping Operations  

 Track shipping performance, transit times, damages, and delivery exceptions. 
 Ensure no duplicate shipments or unnecessary reshipments occur.  

 Evaluate carrier performance and recommend routing improvements.  

 Identify trends, root causes, and operational inefficiencies through data analysis. 
 Develop SOPs and internal controls to improve logistics and inventory accuracy.  

Basic Requirements  

 Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering (IE), Supply Chain, Analytics, Business, or a  related field (or equivalent experience).  

 Experience in logistics, inventory control, operations, or analytics preferred. 
 Experience with Amazon FBA / multi-warehouse operations.  

 Knowledge of parcel, LTL, FTL, eCommerce fulfillment, and carrier management.  

 Computer proficiency with Google Suite and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables, formulas,  VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data modeling.   

 Proven experience in freight bill audit, shipping cost analysis, and inventory  management.  

 Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to perform in a fast-moving environment. 
 Understanding of emerging supply chain technologies such as automation, AI tools, and  traceability systems preferred.
