Job Description

This is a part-time project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 6 - 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

NBC Sports is seeking a dynamic, creative, and detail-oriented Social Media Content Creator to support the digital growth of Chris Simms Unbuttoned and Pro Football Talk Live (PFT Live). This role is responsible for real-time content creation, audience engagement, and strategic distribution across social platforms; helping extend the reach of two of NBC Sports’ flagship football properties.

You will work closely with production, talent, and digital teams to identify compelling moments, convert them into high-performing social content, and drive conversation across platforms including X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and more. This role plays a key part in shaping the digital voice of both brands and maximizing audience growth throughout the NFL calendar.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and publish short-form video, graphics, and copy in real time during live shows and tapings
  • Clip and distribute key moments from Chris Simms Unbuttoned and PFT Live across social platforms
  • Partner with show producers and talent to identify shareable content and promotional opportunities
  • Manage live social coverage during broadcasts and digital streams
  • Monitor social trends, NFL news cycles, and fan conversation to inform content strategy
  • Collaborate with digital and marketing teams to execute content campaigns and promotional pushes
  • Track performance metrics and recommend optimization strategies for growth and engagement
  • Maintain consistency with NBC Sports branding, standards, and social media guidelines
  • Assist with long-term content planning, including tentpole events (NFL Draft, season kickoff, playoffs)
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2+) years of experience in social media, digital production, or sports media
  • Solid understanding of major social platforms (Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Experience creating and editing video content for social distribution
  • Knowledge of the NFL, storylines, and football culture

Skills & Experience We Are Looking For

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, live production environment with early morning shows like PFT Live
  • Strong editorial judgment and instinct for viral or conversation-driving moments
  • Proficiency in video editing tools (Adobe Premiere, CapCut, etc.)
  • Experience with real-time posting and live-event coverage
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with producers, talent, and digital teams
  • Creative thinker who understands how to tailor content by platform
  • Data-minded approach to content performance and audience growth

Eligibility Requirements

  • Willingness to work early mornings, nights, and weekends aligned with show schedules
  • Ability to work on-site in Stamford, CT, or as required by production
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Why This Role Matters

With daily live programming (e.g., early morning blocks for PFT Live) and consistent digital content output for Chris Simms Unbuttoned, this role is essential to capturing real-time moments and turning them into high-impact social engagement that drives audience growth and keeps NBC Sports at the center of the football conversation.
