Job description

INNOCEAN USA, a full-service advertising agency located in Huntington Beach, is seeking a freelance Digital Analyst II to join our Kia team

This is a contract role starting ASAP through 1/29/27.

We are a hybrid workplace, x3 days week in-office.  Candidates must be local to SoCal.

We are seeking a data science-oriented Digital Analyst to support our digital analytics and data engineering team in collecting, validating, and reporting on website performance and working with media data. Looking for a candidate who lives in the data, not just the dashboard - focused on using data to generate insights and power data-driven decisions across the business for our client. You will work with a team of analysts and engineers responsible for collecting, ingesting, monitoring, measuring, and improving the health and performance of our digital channels, while supporting the transformation layer that turns raw event data into trusted, analysis-ready datasets. If you've ever fixed a report by fixing the table behind it, this is your role.

The Digital Analyst II will work closely with senior analysts, directors, strategists, and cross functional partners to ensure accurate data collection and clear reporting that drives insights.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Analysis & Insight

  • Analyze channel performance metrics, identify trends, and support data-driven decisions to improve results
  • Translate raw data into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders and strategy partners
  • Support ad hoc analysis requests and presentation preparation for internal teams and clients

Data Engineering & Modeling

  • Write performant SQL to process large event-level datasets
  • Contribute to data architecture, including scheduled jobs, workflows, and basic orchestration
  • Implement data quality checks, freshness monitoring, and validation logic so problems surface before stakeholders finds them
  • Partner with senior level data engineers on ingestion, table design, and access patterns; support the layer between raw data and reporting

Reporting & Data Hygiene

  • Build and maintain recurring reports and dashboards using Google Analytics 4, BigQuery, Databricks SQL, Looker, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • Document definitions and metric logic so the business trusts a single source of truth
  • Partner with internal teams to understand reporting needs and measurement goals

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-6 years of experience in web analytics, digital marketing analytics, or data analysis, with meaningful exposure to data engineering or analytics engineering work
  • Strong SQL
  • Working proficiency in a coding language for analysis and data processing
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, or a clear willingness to ramp quickly - notebooks, Delta Lake, SQL warehouses, and scheduled jobs
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics tools (Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics), including querying GA4 exports in BigQuery or a lakehouse environment
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Data Studio)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and genuine care about data accuracy and quality
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, or Databricks Workflows
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, and predictive modeling
  • Experience with incrementality testing, media mix modeling, or attribution
  • Exposure to tag management systems (GTM)
  • Cloud platform familiarity (AWS)
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing concepts (media, SEO, site performance, funnels)
  • Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, or how websites function
  • Agency or multi-stakeholder environment experience

BENEFITS:

  • Access to our health benefits
  • Paid sick days
  • 401k match
  • On-site Barista
  • Beautiful campus across from the Pacific Ocean

Salary range: $105,000 to $110,000
