What is fractional training?

Fractional training refers to a model where organizations hire training professionals, such as learning and development experts or corporate trainers, on a part-time or contract basis instead of employing them full-time. This approach allows companies to access specialized expertise and develop tailored training programs without the overhead costs of a full-time hire. Fractional trainers often work with multiple organizations, bringing diverse experience and flexibility. This model is especially popular with startups and small to mid-sized businesses looking to scale training efforts efficiently.

What jobs pay $10,000 a month without a degree?

Jobs related to fractional training, such as freelance consulting, online coaching, or specialized freelance roles, can potentially pay $10,000 a month without a degree, especially with experience and a strong client base. Success in these roles often depends on skills, reputation, and the ability to market oneself effectively, rather than formal education credentials.

What is the difference between Fractional Training vs Part-Time Trainer?

AspectFractional TrainingPart-Time Trainer
CredentialsTypically requires industry-specific certifications and training expertiseOften requires similar certifications, but may vary based on the training subject
Work EnvironmentWorks with multiple clients, often remotely or on-site, providing strategic training solutionsWorks with a single organization or client, delivering training sessions part-time
Employer & Industry UsageUsed by consulting firms, corporate training providers, and freelance professionalsCommon in educational institutions, corporate training departments, and freelance roles

Fractional Training involves providing strategic, high-level training services to multiple clients on a flexible basis, often remotely. In contrast, a Part-Time Trainer typically works with one organization, delivering training sessions on a part-time schedule. Both roles require relevant certifications, but Fractional Training emphasizes strategic consulting across various clients, while Part-Time Trainers focus on delivering specific training content within a single organization.

How do you become a fractional?

To become a fractional professional, you typically need relevant industry experience, strong skills in your field, and often certifications or specialized training. Building a reputation through networking and demonstrating expertise can help you secure fractional roles, which usually involve working part-time or on a project basis for multiple clients or organizations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Fractional Training Consultant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fractional Training Consultant, you need expertise in adult learning principles, curriculum development, and industry-specific knowledge, typically supported by a background in education or professional certifications like CPTD or ATD. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), virtual training tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams), and e-learning software is important for delivering and tracking training initiatives. Outstanding communication, adaptability, and project management skills help you tailor programs to diverse client needs and build strong relationships. These abilities are crucial for delivering effective, results-driven training solutions in a flexible, client-focused consulting environment.

How do Fractional Training professionals typically integrate with existing teams, and what challenges might they face in doing so?

Fractional Training professionals often work part-time or on a contract basis, which means they need to quickly familiarize themselves with a company's culture, processes, and team dynamics. A common challenge is building trust and rapport with full-time staff while delivering impactful training initiatives within limited timeframes. Clear communication and setting expectations early are key to successful collaboration. These professionals frequently coordinate with HR, department heads, and subject matter experts to tailor training solutions that align with organizational goals.

Is fractional work worth it?

Fractional training involves working part-time or on a contract basis to provide specialized training services, often requiring relevant certifications and flexible scheduling. It can offer benefits such as diverse experience and work-life balance but may lack job stability and benefits compared to full-time roles.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

High-paying freelance or consulting roles such as executive coaches, specialized trainers, or business consultants can earn around $2,000 per day, especially when they have extensive experience, certifications, and a strong client base. These positions often require advanced skills, industry expertise, and the ability to command premium rates for their services.

Job description

Own the financial engine behind our two-sided ads marketplace.

At Thanks, we’re building a customer-first monetization platform that delivers growth without compromise - for advertisers, publishers, and consumers. We power growth for the world’s leading brands, delivering tens of millions of high-value “thanks” moments every month.

We’re hiring a Senior Accountant to own the day-to-day financial operations of the business, with a particular focus on revenue, billing, and financial accuracy.

This is a foundational role. You’ll manage how money moves through a complex, two-sided marketplace – across advertisers, affiliate platforms, and partners – ensuring everything is accurate, reconciled, and on time.

You’ll work closely with our Fractional CFO, but operate independently day-to-day. You’ll bring structure, reliability, and clarity to a critical part of the business.

What you’ll do

Own revenue, billing, and reconciliation: Manage end-to-end billing across advertisers and partners – including invoicing, payouts, and reconciliation across affiliate platforms (e.g. Impact, Rakuten). Ensure revenue is accurate, traceable, and complete.

Run clean, reliable financial operations: Own accounts payable and expense management. Ensure invoices are captured, approved, and paid on time. Build simple, effective processes that provide visibility and eliminate errors.

Support month-end close and reporting: Maintain clean, current books and support the monthly close. Partner with the Fractional CFO to deliver clear, reliable reporting and investor-ready outputs.

Own US payroll and compliance hygiene: Manage payroll via Rippling and ensure core US tax and compliance obligations are handled correctly. Keep processes clean, documented, and under control.

Improve systems and reduce manual work: Identify and implement improvements across the finance stack. Reduce manual inputs, streamline workflows, and build processes that scale.

Operate as a problem-solver: Work through ambiguity, resolve discrepancies, and keep things moving without waiting for perfect inputs.

Requirements

What we’re looking for

  • 3–6 years’ experience in accounting or finance, with strong foundational training
  • Degree-qualified in accounting, finance, or similar
  • Experience handling revenue, billing, invoicing, or reconciliation
  • Experience operating in fast-moving, ambiguous or unstructured environments (startup, scaleup, or consulting)
  • Comfortable working with multi-party or performance-based revenue flows (e.g. marketplaces, affiliate, adtech, fintech)
  • Strong grasp of core accounting processes (AP, AR, month-end close)
  • Comfortable owning processes end-to-end and being accountable for outcomes
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness
  • Ability to identify issues, work through ambiguity, and resolve discrepancies independently
  • Track record of improving processes and reducing manual work
  • Experience with accounting tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
  • Clear and direct communicator

Nice to have

  • Experience with affiliate platforms (e.g. Impact, Rakuten, CJ, Partnerize)
  • Exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency environments
  • Background in adtech, marketplaces, or performance-based revenue models
  • Experience in an early-stage startup environment

Location & working style

  • Strong preference for US West Coast-based candidates to enable effective collaboration across time zones
  • Open to other US locations for exceptional candidates
  • Remote-first, with a high degree of trust and ownership

Benefits

Why Thanks?

What makes this role different:

Own a critical part of the business: Revenue, billing, and cash flow are core to how we operate. You’ll own how this works day-to-day.

Operate with autonomy and support: Work independently day-to-day, with guidance from an experienced Fractional CFO.

Foundational role with real impact: You’re building a system that scales.

High standards, low ego: We operate with urgency, clarity, and empathy.

Competitive package: Competitive salary plus ESOP, with scope to grow your role as the company grows.

Built for flexibility: Remote-first US team with clear expectations and high trust.

We’re building something deliberately - not copying what already exists. If you’re someone who takes ownership, solves problems, and cares about getting the details right, we’d love to hear from you.

Let’s build something extraordinary together.
