Job description

Why Join DCL

At DCL, your work is visible and it matters. This is a place where finance is not tucked away in a back office. You will sit close to the operation, close to leadership, and close to the decisions that shape the business. We move fast, we value accuracy, and we give our people real ownership. If you want a seat at the table instead of a spot in the queue, you will find it here.

Summary of the Job

If you are a finance professional who thrives where the numbers meet the operation, this role was built for you. DCL Logistics is looking for a seasoned Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a trusted financial partner to our leadership team. Someone who brings clarity to complexity, turns data into decisions, and wants their work to matter beyond the spreadsheet.

Rooted in accuracy, consistency, and long-term contribution, this role sits at the intersection of finance and logistics, where labor costs, client billing structures, and operational throughput are the real financial drivers. You will build and maintain financial models, lead budgeting and forecasting, and deliver reporting that leadership actually uses. This is not a back-office role. It is an operational seat at the table in a fast-paced, high-volume 3PL environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyze financial data and develop models to support leadership decision-making.
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing actual results against plans and forecasts.
  • Perform variance analysis, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare clear, concise financial reports for regular leadership reviews.
  • Develop and maintain weekly flash reports, monthly close packages, and quarterly performance reviews.
  • Build and track operational KPIs tied to financial performance including cost per order, cost per labor hour, and revenue per square foot.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process including data collection, modeling, and analysis.
  • Forecast revenue and costs and communicate findings to management in a timely manner.
  • Build scenario and sensitivity models to assess risks and opportunities.
  • Analyze labor costs as the primary operational cost driver, tracking trends, efficiencies, and variances by site, shift, or department.
  • Support client billing reconciliation across complex billing structures including per pallet, per hour, and per shipment models.
  • Evaluate gross margin performance by customer or contract to support account-level profitability analysis.
  • Partner with operations leadership to understand throughput, headcount, and productivity metrics and their financial impact.
  • Work closely with the Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Review monthly financial results in detail to ensure all transactions are properly reflected.
  • Present financial analysis and key insights to leadership and budget owners on a recurring basis, supporting planning and performance management.
  • Be in compliance with ISO 9001 and 14001 and adhere to the DCL Code of Conduct.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in reporting and planning processes.
  • Support business process optimization for financial and operational reporting.
  • Contribute to BI tools and data reporting initiatives; support data automation leveraging Excel, Access, and Power BI or similar platforms.
  • Other assigned duties as needed.

PHYSICAL/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to have the following:

  • Ability to move 10+ pounds.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with strong working knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive financial analysis experience; logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or similarly operationally complex industry strongly preferred.
  • Advanced experience building integrated financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel including advanced formulas and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in JD Edwards (ERP) required; experience with Transportal, eFactory, Paycom, and Atlassian/Confluence a plus.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting tools preferred.
  • Ability to work deep in the data while maintaining a clear view of the bigger picture.
  • Strong communicator who can translate financial data into business insight for non-finance audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and ownership.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented; comfortable identifying problems and proposing fixes.
  • Collaborative team player who builds trust across finance and operations.
  • Comfortable working across all levels of the organization including executive leadership.
  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.

Join us to make a meaningful impact through insightful analysis, innovative strategies, and a passion for finance!
