Job description

AXG Contracting is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support large-scale capital and mega projects across the energy and industrial sectors. This role plays a critical part throughout the full project lifecycle, partnering closely with engineering, construction, and project controls teams to ensure schedule integrity, constructability, and execution certainty.


This is a senior-level scheduling role requiring minimal supervision and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, and maintain integrated project schedules from early planning through execution and closeout
  • Lead schedule updates through coordination meetings, field verification, and construction interviews
  • Identify and resolve schedule conflicts, including areas where safety and schedule may intersect
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) and productivity analysis to assess project performance
  • Support change management, including tracking change notices, facilitating weekly hearings, and supporting change committees
  • Assist project teams in developing construction sequencing and contract strategies to improve constructability
  • Support quantity analysis for activity durations and estimating
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, construction, contractors, and clients in a professional and proactive manner


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8–12 years of scheduling experience using Primavera P6 (and/or similar tools)
  • Demonstrated experience on large capital projects, including petrochemical, LNG, midstream, or downstream facilities
  • Experience supporting major project portfolios exceeding $1B
  • Strong understanding of engineering disciplines and how they integrate into project schedules
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines


Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6; familiarity with Microsoft Project preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Earned Value, productivity tracking, and schedule constraints
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to assess progress, forecast completion, and evaluate schedule risk
