Job description

An energy infrastructure organization is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead strategic materials procurement initiatives across a complex, asset-intensive business.

This is a hands-on senior individual-contributor role for a procurement professional who can move comfortably between category strategy and execution. You will advise internal stakeholders, assess market conditions, lead competitive sourcing events, negotiate supplier agreements, manage supplier performance, and help protect continuity of supply.

Responsabilities

  • Develop and execute materials procurement and category strategies.
  • Lead RFP, RFQ, RFA, bid evaluation, and negotiation processes.
  • Source and negotiate agreements for materials and related services, partnering with Legal and business stakeholders on commercial terms.
  • Translate supplier and market intelligence into practical recommendations for Engineering, Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Build strategic supplier relationships; define KPIs; manage performance, corrective actions, and commitments.
  • Maintain procurement data and workflows in Oracle Cloud ERP and contribute to process or system improvements.
  • Serve as a materials procurement subject-matter expert and mentor to less-experienced buyers.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of procurement experience, including meaningful responsibility for materials sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and negotiation.
  • Materials procurement experience in energy, utilities, manufacturing, industrial services, or a comparable asset-intensive sector.
  • Hands-on Oracle Cloud ERP experience.
  • Current CPSM or CPIM certification.
  • Strong commercial judgment, analytical capability, and the confidence to influence stakeholders independently.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, accounting, or a related field; substantial directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Especially relevant

Experience with energy-related commodities, engineering standards or approved manufacturer processes, Oracle Cloud Inventory/Requisition/Procurement modules, e-sourcing, contract lifecycle management, or spend analytics.
