Job description

VTC Technician

is seeking a VTC Technician to provide video teleconferencing (VTC), audiovisual (AV), mobility, and help desk support . This role supports approximately 120 VTC suites across the National Capital Region and Continuity of Operations (COOP) sites, along with mobile device administration and tiered customer support .

Location: (On-Site) Fort Belvoir, VA

Security Clearance: Must possess an active SECRET security clearance (interim SECRET accepted at start) and maintain the clearance for the duration of the contract.

Certifications: DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, or equivalent) required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot IP-based VTC solutions on SIPRNET and NIPRNET environments using Poly products (Codecs, RMX, DMA Gateways) across Fort Belvoir, Fort Myer, and the Pentagon, including JITC/DISA certified suites and DISA Global Video Services (GVS).
  • Perform daily operability checks on all SVTC systems, set up and shut down secure/non-secure conferences at least 30 minutes prior to start times following DISA procedures, and assist users with dry-runs, visual aid presentations, and live conference support.
  • Provide AV support for approximately twenty OCAR indoor/outdoor ceremonies annually, supporting equipment such as stereos, speakers, amplifiers, ISEC switches, VOIP converged systems, RMS, MVIS, and media streaming solutions (vBrick, Haivision).
  • Deliver scheduled reporting, including daily GO/SES-level VTC reports and weekly A/V utilization reports capturing conference volume, equipment operability trends, and issues.
  • Administer Ivanti MobileIron, Purebred, and DISA Storefront for device administration, license distribution, certificate management, and provisioning of unclassified and classified mobile devices (iOS, Android, DMCC-S) via Apple Business Manager (ABM) and DISA Mobility Unclassified Capability (DMUC).
  • Troubleshoot mobile device issues including certificate logging, application availability, hardware updates, and compliance, and interface with Army Reserve inventory systems for hardware tracking and hand receipt management.
  • Provide tier 1 to tier 2 help desk support across workstations, laptops (SIPR/NIPR), servers, peripherals, and A/V equipment, documenting and tracking all trouble tickets in CA Service Desk and meeting response SLAs (15 minutes for GO/SES, 2 hours for O-6/GS-15, 24 hours for general users).
  • Support VTC equipment updates, replacements, COOP exercises, and Army Reserve working groups, including remote fault diagnosis with on-site personnel and immediate notification to the COR of any suspected information leakage via VTC.

Basic Qualifications Required Education, Certifications, Skills, and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience with IP-based VTC solutions using Poly products (Codecs, RMX, DMA Gateways) in a DoD Information Network (DoDIN) environment supporting both secured and unsecured services.
  • Working knowledge of DISA Global Video Services (GVS) and experience with media streaming solutions such as vBrick or Haivision.
  • Hands-on experience administering mobility platforms (Ivanti MobileIron, Purebred, DISA Storefront, ABM, DMUC) and troubleshooting iOS, Android, and DMCC-S devices.
  • Experience providing tier 1 to tier 2 IT help desk support with ticket tracking in CA Service Desk or BMC Remedy, and working knowledge of Active Directory and SIPRNET/NIPRNET troubleshooting.
  • Experience interfacing with inventory and hand receipt systems for IT hardware accountability.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE) required.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior leaders and technical staff.
  • Must possess an active SECRET security clearance (interim SECRET accepted at start) and maintain it for the duration of the contract.
  • Ability to work on-site at Fort Belvoir, VA, with occasional travel to Fort Myer and the Pentagon.
