ELECTRICAL JOURNEYMAN
JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary:
The Electrical Journeyman will install, maintain, replace, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures throughout the DMV area.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, repair or replace refactors, lamps, screw, bolts, washer, luminaries, photocells and associated streetlight equipment,
Uses graphic illustrations such as blueprints, schematic drawings and layouts in order to properly located, install and repair street lighting equipment,
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes,
Install, inspect, and test electrical distribution systems and components,
Diagnoses and troubleshoot faulty wiring and electrical systems,
Install and connect circuit breakers, electrical switches, and outlets,
Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices,
Be following OSHA and other applicable standards,
Troubleshoot equipment, electrical systems and control circuits
Read blueprints or technical diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems,
Follow specifications on blueprints or technical drawings,
Must wear proper attire at all times including PPE,
May be required to work extended hours including evening, night and weekends,
Perform additional duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:
Minimum of 3-7 years of hands-on experience in commercial, government Electrical trade,
DC or Mayland current Journeyman's license,
Possess a current, valid driver's license (not under limitations),
High School diploma or equivalent desired,
Supervise and train apprentice electricians and serve as a mentor,
Advanced electrical systems training and manufacturing training,
Extensive technical knowledge of Electrical service and installation,
Work at various heights above ground and depth underground surface,
Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening.


Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday,
You are required to bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach and stoop using your arms, legs and hand repeatedly,
This job may require you to stand for extended periods of time,
This job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (glasses, contacts),
Performing strenuous work in varying temperatures, wind, rain and other conditions for extended periods,
Work performed with exposures to extremely hot materials, fumes, vapors, fuel, dust, grease, oil, as well as loud and or constant noise and moving equipment,
