Position Overview
The Director of Housekeeping provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest comfort throughout the property. This role upholds the luxury brand's service culture by delivering flawless attention to detail, exceptional quality standards, and a consistent Forbes-level guest experience.
What You'll Do
Leadership & Operations
  • Oversee daily operations of Housekeeping, Laundry, Uniform, and Public Area teams, ensuring all spaces reflect Five-Star luxury standards.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor cleaning procedures aligned with brand, Forbes, and AAA guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, suites, public areas, back-of-house, and specialty spaces with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ensure timely room availability in coordination with Front Office, Engineering, and Food & Beverage to support revenue and guest satisfaction goals.

Team Management & Training
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers, supervisors, room attendants, and support staff.
  • Deliver Forbes and AAA standards training, service rituals, and continuous development programs.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and guest-focused service.
  • Oversee recruitment, scheduling, performance management, and corrective action processes.

Guest Experience
  • Respond to and resolve guest concerns with discretion, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Ensure all guest rooms and public spaces exceed expectations for cleanliness, comfort, and aesthetic presentation.
  • Maintain luxury touches, in-room amenities, turndown standards, and personalized guest preferences.

Financial & Administrative
  • Develop and manage the departmental budget including labor, supplies, uniforms, and operating equipment.
  • Analyze productivity, forecasting, and cost controls to drive efficiency without compromising luxury standards.
  • Oversee inventory management and procurement of linens, amenities, and supplies in partnership with Purchasing.

Quality Assurance & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with all health, hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain strong collaboration with Engineering to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues.
  • Lead departmental audits, quality inspections, and corrective action initiatives.

What You'll Bring
Required Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive housekeeping leadership experience required in a luxury or Five-Star hotel environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Forbes Travel Guide standards and ultra-luxury service expectations.
  • Proven ability to lead large, diverse teams with a focus on empowerment, engagement, and high performance.
