Housekeeping Rooms Inspector

Full-Time | Luxury Hotel & Resort

Salamander Middleburg is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Housekeeping Rooms Inspector to join our Housekeeping team. This position plays an important role in ensuring our guest rooms and suites consistently meet Forbes Five-Star luxury standards for cleanliness, presentation, safety, and overall guest experience.

The ideal candidate has previous luxury hotel housekeeping experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to inspect rooms, identify deficiencies, and coach team members to consistently deliver the highest standards of cleanliness and service.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct detailed inspections of guest rooms and suites for cleanliness, presentation, maintenance, and safety.

  • Ensure cleaned rooms are guest-ready and meet Forbes Five-Star standards and Salamander brand expectations.

  • Identify and document housekeeping, cleanliness, maintenance, and safety deficiencies.

  • Inspect VIP rooms, priority arrivals, and special-request rooms to ensure exceptional presentation.

  • Provide timely coaching, direction, and feedback to housekeeping team members when standards are not met.

  • Maintain accurate room inspection records and update room status as required.

  • Communicate maintenance concerns and room deficiencies to the appropriate departments for timely resolution.

  • Ensure compliance with established cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards.

  • Clean and prepare guest rooms when operationally necessary.

  • Assist with Laundry operations as needed.

  • Work collaboratively with Housekeeping leadership and other resort departments to ensure an exceptional guest experience.

  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational and business needs.

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of housekeeping, rooms inspection, or related hotel experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Previous experience in a Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five Diamond, luxury hotel, or luxury resort environment preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of hotel housekeeping, guest room cleanliness, and quality inspection standards.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify cleanliness and maintenance concerns.

  • Ability to effectively coach and communicate with housekeeping team members.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.

  • Previous experience handling guest service concerns preferred

  • Bilingual English & Spanish skills preferred.

  • Valid driver's license required.

Schedule Requirements

This position requires scheduling flexibility based on resort operations, including:

  • AM and PM shifts

  • Weekends

  • Holidays

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Use hands and arms to handle, reach, and perform housekeeping-related tasks.

  • Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds.

  • Visually inspect guest rooms and identify differences in cleanliness, condition, placement, and presentation.
